We’re Alison and Brenden, founders of Alchemy Elements, husband and wife, partners in life and business, and creators of a brand built from the soil of our old farm, the science in our minds, and the dreams in our hearts.
Where It All Began
Our story begins the way many beautiful stories do: with family.
When our first child was born nine years ago, everything changed. Like many new parents, we became hyper-aware of every product, every label, every hidden chemical in our home. One day, our daughter came down with a cough at daycare, and like any parents trying to do better, we started searching for natural alternatives — which led us to our first batch of elderberry syrup.
That one remedy sparked something.
From that moment forward, we were hooked — not on trends, but on truth. The kind of truth you find in nature, in wild plants, in the old ways. Over the next eight years, we slowly replaced every synthetic product in our home with something better. Something real.
Life on the farm
At the time, we were living on a small farm in southern Oregon; barefoot in the garden, growing food, foraging wild medicine, raising babies under the sun. Brenden had built and was running a 5-acre organic farm from the literal ground up, with just one other person to help. It was hard work, but it was rooted in passion and a commitment to sustainable, natural living.
Working with herbs was an essential part of the farm’s ecosystem, and Brenden became deeply knowledgeable about their properties and how to use them effectively. This hands-on experience with cultivation and formulation became the foundation for many of our products.
It was there that our relationship with the earth deepened.
We weren’t just living naturally. We were becoming natural.
A New Chapter in Colorado
When we moved to Colorado, we found ourselves at a turning point.
Alison was running an in-home daycare; Brenden was woodworking.
We were trying to rediscover our purpose away from the land, we loved. That’s when the vision for Alchemy Elements became clear.
We weren’t just supposed to make products.
We were meant to solve problems, starting with our own.
Too many people want to live more naturally but don’t know where to begin. It’s overwhelming. It’s confusing. It’s full of greenwashed marketing and products that say they’re natural… but aren’t effective.
So We Got to Work
With Alison’s background in environmental and biological sciences, and Brenden’s natural gift for formulation, chemistry, and design, we started making things we could stand behind.
We studied, tested, tweaked, and refined until we had products we were proud of.
Our elderberry syrup took off first. Then came our magnesium line, and eventually the product that changed everything:
our frankincense resin extract-infused serum.
We developed our own full-spectrum extraction method to release the powerful boswellic acids in the frankincense resin, something most products can’t achieve.
It is potent. It is pure. It was transformative.
